Independence
No brand, manufacturer, retailer, or agency can buy a recommendation on this site. We do not sell ranking positions, “best overall” placements, scores, or inclusion in a roundup. We do not run sponsored posts dressed up as reviews.
Where a company has supplied a product for review, or where any other relationship exists that a reasonable reader would want to know about, that is disclosed in the article itself - not buried in a site-wide notice.
How we make money
When you follow a link from this site to a retailer and buy something, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Full terms are on our affiliate disclaimer page.
Commission rates vary between products and categories. We do not take those rates into account when deciding what to recommend or how to rank it, and editors do not see per-product commission data as part of the review process.
Evidence and sourcing
Claims of fact in our coverage should be traceable. We rely on manufacturer specifications, verified buyer ratings and review text, published measurements from independent sources, and direct hands-on experience where an editor has it.
We distinguish between these in the writing. “Rated 4.6 by 12,000 buyers” and “we used this for three months” are different kinds of evidence and we do not blur them together. Our how we review page sets out the method in detail, including the honest limits of the ReviewScope Score.
Accuracy and corrections
We get things wrong. When we do, we fix it in place rather than quietly deleting the page.
- Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed.
- Corrections that change the substance of a recommendation are noted on the article, with the date and what changed.
- Typographical fixes and formatting changes are made without a note.
- We do not remove critical coverage of a product because a brand asked us to.

Separation of editorial and commerce
Decisions about what to cover and what to recommend are made on editorial grounds. Affiliate partnerships, advertising relationships, and commercial arrangements do not determine which products appear, what order they appear in, or what we say about them.
If we ever cannot cover something independently, the right answer is not to cover it.
Author expertise and accountability
Every article on ReviewScope.org is published under an accountable byline, and our editorial process requires that whoever publishes a recommendation can explain the basis for it.
We are a small operation and we would rather say that plainly than imply a newsroom we do not have. What we commit to is that the reasoning behind any pick is written down on the page, so you can judge it for yourself instead of taking our word for it.
Use of automated tools
We use automated systems to gather and refresh product data at scale - pricing, availability, ratings, specifications - and to assist with drafting. Automated output is not a substitute for editorial judgement: Recommendations, rankings, and the reasoning published alongside them are the responsibility of the humans who publish them, and remain subject to every rule on this page.
